7th July 2016 Windsurfing: The Manor-Felixstowe Wind Direction: s Wind Stength: 12/16 Surf / Sea State: smooth Air Temperature: 20 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: 21.13 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 13.50 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) The wind forecast is for Fri,Sat and Sun but the breeze filled in after dinner which suited me fine as I just finished cleaning the windows! The tide was high so I headed down to The Manor where I got gusts to 20 mph so rigged 7.8 on the 133 but it was way under and it was a job keeping upwind and I lost four goynes the first run out. I changed to my bigger board which was marginally better and I got a couple of gusts breaking 20kts just. I struggled on for nearly two hours before it dropped off, a couple of other windsurfers launched nearby and then lost loads downwind heading off towards the pier,they could have had a long walk back! Lets hope we get more wind tomorrow! PS - am really missing my Tushingham Lightning 8.5 and am looking for another. |
